Winter Travel Outfit – Minimalist and Barefoot in Action

written by Charles December 17, 2017

Today I bring to you my very first video. Instead of talking about the clothes I wanted to show them. Show them moving on a person in various scenes so you can get the best feel for what these clothes might actually look like in real life.

The Day

The weather was about 30-35 degrees F with some added wind chill.  Sunny and beautiful with great light.

We were in Milwaukie OR started out in Kellog Park, then moved into Spring Park, and ended on Elk Rock Island.

The entire video was shot and edited on my Pixel 2 XL with Moment Lenses. I used a gorrilapod and reticam phone mount as a tripod. No color correction was done.

The Outfit

Head – Buff Merino Wool Black, love this thing, so many functions and features. If you notice in the beginning of the video I’m wearing it as a ear warmer/headband. Then later on in the video I wear it as a beanie.

Shirt – Arc’teryx A2B Polo Nighthawk – A staple shirt, a blend of merino wool and polyester gives it all the benefits of wool without the downsides. Great for work or play.

Jacket – Ninox the Stratton Black – A great looking puffer without the “puff”. Super warm, great for the city. Only downside is it’s not packable but the looks are worth it.

Pants – Outlier Slim Dungarees Phase Gray, pricey but worth it. I use these pants for everything, trust me when I say you’ll see me wearing just about every future video.

Shoes – Vivobarefoot Gobi II Black – Do it all shoe. If you haven’t tried barefoot shoes then you’ve been missing out. Check out my other post on  the best barefoot shoe for every occasion.

Gloves – REI Merino Wool Liners Asphalt – Simple glove, love that they are wool. Cheap and effective, I use them as glove liners for extra warmth as well or function just as well by themselves. Touch screen still works as well.

Socks – Outlier Megafine Merino Socks Black – The most comfortable socks in the world, no joke. They have been holding up great with daily use.
